Santa Barbara California is such a gorgeous place to get married. Oli Sue and Chris decided to get an intimate elopement wedding here at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse. So intimate that there were only six in the wedding party, photographer included.
Oli Sue dressed up in this charming place called the Villa Rosa which is just walking distance from the beach.
She bought her wedding dress from Free People online – actually most of her wedding suppliers were found online … no-fuss bride.
Hair & Makeup was done by Adrieanna of Dreamcatcher Artistry.
There are some guys who are not ring people (like my husband who opted to have a leather bracelet instead on our wedding). For Chris though, there was only one ring he would wear, and its the ring that would rule them all – the Lord of the Rings – bought all the way from New Zealand – Jens Hansen, maker of the world’s most famous ring.
And since the wedding was super simple, although they were so much into Marvel, Dr Who, Starwars – or anything Comicon – the invitation too was just this simple.
Oh and the flowers were just gorgeous by Ella & Louie. Oli Sue wanted a wild flower bouquet and she got exactly what she wanted.
Wedding guests got wine from the Sunstone Vineyard at Sta Ynez.
Here’s the Santa Barbara County Courthouse.
You first go in the Hall Records to sign papers.
I think one of the reasons Oli Sue & Chris chose it here because the sign outside looks very Harry Potter.
The whole process of signing and the actual ceremony takes just about 30 minutes.
Reception was at The Andersen Restaurant & Bakery which is just a walk-away from the courthouse. They loved this Danish restaurant known for their breakfast but they basically got it for their crab cake, which really really tasted good.
All the glasses you see in this photo comprises all the wedding guests.
And for every wedding, my number one advise to all couples is to…
Word of the wedding leaked out to their officemates and friends a few days before so they sent in a bunch of well-wishes on cards.
And because they’re all into Comicon and popculture… you wouldn’t be surprised if Chris had a wedding accessory like this from Pulp Fiction.
So this is how a Whovian (Doctor Who fan) getting married would look like.
In about 3 hours we finished the whole wedding & reception celebration. No fuss but definitely a very meaningful day for Oli Sue & Chris.
